Artist Statement: As a new mother during the pandemic, I took a Zoom cartooning workshop from the brilliant and kind New Yorker cartoonist Asher Perlman, who taught me to draw what I know. Cartooning allowed me to create in small moments and spaces when I only had small moments and spaces to spare. It also helped me feel creative during a stressful time in my life and brought cheer to those around me.
